Asset Sales and Employment Rights – What You Don’t Know Can Cost You
Employees who are swept up in asset sales may have common law rights to termination based on more than just their most recent length of service. Employers and employees must take care in drafting, negotiating and accepting offers that affect their rights.

Temporary Help Agencies and Recruiters – Licensing Obligations Now Apply
Ontario has now confirmed its licensing requirements for temporary help agencies and recruiters. Requirements will officially be in place January 1, 2024. Failing to obtain a license can result in fines of up to $50,000 or a ban on operating in Ontario. For employers using temporary help agencies and recruiters, it will be an offense to knowingly use unlicensed business for your staffing needs.
